ABOUT ME

Jim is not a man who sets limits or lives by convention. Whether he is soaring above Aspen in his paraglider, kayaking down a wild river in Canada, ski mountaineering in the Alps, or climbing a rock face in California, Jim is living his message. He believes that risk taking and success are linked and that anyone can achieve levels of success far beyond their perceived limits. and as he gracefully approaches his 70th year....he’s still doing some of it

SKILLS
I started the wilderness first-aid movement in July of 1978 and have been teaching courses around the world ever since. I've been climbing, kayaking, paragliding, back country skiing and mtn biking for several years recreationally and professionally, providing a wealth of EXPERIENCE.

BACKGROUND

Certified as an AMGA  guide I've been guiding globally

for 46 years. I taught the first wilderness medicine course in

Canada or USA and am currently accredited to teach physicians

through the college of family physicians of Canada.

I’ve also developed and presented four keynote speeches:

1 - BEYOND FEAR, (also a one day course)

2 - ADVENTURE, WHO NEEDS IT ?

3 - THE AGING GAME

4 - GET A LIFE (also a one day course)

Another path travelled was that of a corporate trainer offering

a three day teambuilding program and a five day leadership

summit. This was the most satisfying and enjoyable of them all.

EDUCATION

BA, BPHE, B Ed., Masters in Education

Avalanche skills level 2

AMGA full rock guide

* This course is taught through the eyes of a guide, not a physician, and this perspective is generally refreshing to most docs.
